ICE Northwest Awards at The Reebok Stadium

The ICE Northwest Civil Engineering Awards celebrate outstanding civil engineering achievement, innovation and ingenuity by
companies, organisations and individuals in the North West of England.

This year, the 83rd annual awards were held at The Reebok Stadium, home of Bolton Wanderers Football Club. Remote Audio Visual were given the task of putting together the stage, set, sound, visuals and lighting to bring the event to life.

The event was held in the Cavernous Premier Suite so it was important to create a stage which would draw the audience in. The simple use of a 14′ Screen suspended 22′ above the ground against a star cloth backdrop was the starting point. We used our Revostage on 2′ risers to raise the presenters to a level which allowed the audience a good view. For the benefit of the people towards the back of the room, a live video feed of the presenters was relayed onto the projection screen using our Sony Z5 HD Camcorder and our Sanyo xp200 projector.

A wash of white light over the stage with some coloured up-lighting either side created a backdrop The Institute of Civil Engineers could be proud of, 16 Fresnels were used for the stage wash and also to throw some colour in to the audience. Sound was relayed via AKG 747 lectern microphones and Sennheiser Radio Microphones, these fed our Yamaha Mixer and Crown Aplifiers which in turn filled the room with a crisp, quality sound via RCF Speakers.

The Vision and Data included two show laptops, dvd player and live camera feed all seemlessly switched to create a professional and entertaining flow of the Awards Ceremony.

The event was a great success and was enjoyed by all involved.
